This was my first time watching a Jake Paul fight in full
He looked bad but I'm assuming he was basically carrying Mike and just doing enough for it to not totally look fake

All things considered, Jake Paul is honestly the perfect representation of boxing. He's the semi-pro celebrity version of a prize fighter (Canelo, Tank, Floyd, Oscar). He's a brand & people will pay to see their favorite brand named fighter beat up jobbers or potentially lose to "seemingly" dangerous opponents

Canelo has had like 4 garbage fights in a row fighting guys we KNOW he'd beat & his fanbase will be there to watch the next one and the next one after that. As long as you throw the public an occasional bone with a tough opponent or the dance partner can create compelling story, the brand sells itself.......so yes, I'm not mad at Jake Paul because this is literally what the sport is. He's just doing it on a lower level than your favorites but all of your favorites do this.

Have you ever sparred mma/kickboxing dudes?

I don't want to say they all bad at boxing...but I suppose the angles and shyt is way diff than what they used to. so everyone I've sparred against have been horrible at boxing. like maybe they could crack, if they could land but but they shyts be in slow motion. So i'm not shocked Paul could knock some over the hill mma dudes out, hes pretty big compared to the dudes he was fighting.

IDK how much you follow MMA but the FW champ Topuria has fairly crisp boxing for MMA and he beating the shyt out of all of them and hes not even THAT good at boxing, otherwise...he'd be a boxer

Any nikkaz who knows me, know I give the utmost respect to mma dudes, Muay Thai, kickboxing all that. I've trained side by side with them. They are beast.
I was actually brought in to train mma dudes in striking for my man's school.
I'm glad I was there cause my overall fight game got better training with them and their hands got really good with me as their instructor.

But yea, them guys hands are better than the average Joe blow, but they wouldn't beat a guy in a boxing match who has trained in strictly boxing for about a year.

There are nuances to boxing that only boxers and kickboxers understand. Which makes nonboxers and mma guys slower and easy targets.
Their technique is not as crisp and they try to throw harder which makes them load up and are slower.

So when Jake was beating these dudes, and people are like "he's beating professional fighters"... Again it makes my nauseous trying to explain to them... While they looking at me like a hater
