This is a dumb move. He's 35 years old and injury prone he is an idiot for not going to Memphis if they want to extend him.
Jimmy probably got more pissed with Pat Riley over the summer after the saw Paul George sign that $200M contract. He’s only a couple months older than PG and they’ve both been injury prone so Pat couldn’t use those as excuses.
He should’ve known if Riley ain’t make Dwade the highest paid player during his tenure with the Heat he damn sure wasn’t give Yimmy 200m

No one in the entire league is giving him the extension he wants besides Phoenix... who literally CAN'T... because Beal isn't signing off on being shipped to some random 3rd team like the Pistons to facilitate the trade. The lamest trade saga in recent memory.

This ain't 2016 where the "max contract" hovered around ~$30 mil annually anymore... when the 1-2 year extension tacks on another $50 million each year, no sane FO is obliging a player in the final years of his career for that amount anymore. Especially when they're probably gonna miss half of that year out with injury. Think you're the one who needs to catch up
