Don't see the fit with Dantoni. They need a coach that is proven and is ready to win in the playoffs. I think Larry Brown or Jerry Sloan would be a great fit for a quick fix for a year or two. Obviously Phil would be the best choice but that ship has sailed.

Suns woulda won the ring if big shot bob didnt goon up. Lets not take that season away from pringles cuz of that tomfoolery. That season validated the pringles system whether u like it or not..will it work with the lakers is another question..I dont think they have as much talent as that Suns team top to bottom, yet they certainly have enough that his coaching should "work". He has an italian rapport with kobe, has been successful with nash, and can utilize dwights athletic advantages over his peers. I think paus game might stay the same or so. All in all, better than mike brown, who needs a defensive team with an iso offense. Kobe too old to be centerpiece of an iso and he has too much talent on the roster to do that and keep people happy.

I cosign westphal over d'antoni fwiw. Not a huge pringles guy, I just think hes better than what he did in ny and is better than brown.

I see ur point on validation..pringles system is kinda a hybrid of jim obriens and westphals..certainly has its flaws..but with the game moving away from big immobile centers u can see the influence of that suns team. The hawks essentially used an offshoot of it and followed the suns model to relative success..shows in how woodson became an assistant under pringles and his eventual successor there. System isnt all that old either, it could become more common in time..especially with the aforementioned center development and progressively softer youth growing up.
