Which makes no sense considering that Jimmy would continue to get older and not younger. If they really wanted him to be part of the future, reduce that cap hit and give him a long term deal. Bringing a player in with an opt out after the season is asking for controversy.

Right. Or restructure his final year and spread out the 53M + give him additional years and reduce the hit.

Either way I think both parties fukked up. Pat's comments last summer didn't sit well with Jimmy and here we are.
