They win more by just sitting his ass on the bench and letting him go at the end of the season rather than helping some contender or rival opponent get better. I knew yesterday they were likely to pull the “Ben Simmons” move by suspending him and docking his paystub. I mentioned yesterday that they'll wind up sending him home if it's that much of a problem, and Spo knows how to keep the team's morale up despite the Jimmy Butler noise.

I'm all for Butler getting his last big payday but the ball isn't in Jimmy's hand; it's pretty much two options for him; either he accepts the pre-planned opt-in contract stipulation for next season or just leaves in free agency, but otherwise, Miami has no incentive to rush him on out of there. The only way Miami trades Jimmy is if they get someone in return that helps them stay competitive in the East playoff picture.

Y'all talking about Miami getting picks and a few scrubs for Jimmy :mjlol: Pat doesn't want any dayum picks; Miami isn't the type of organization to rebuild through the draft for consecutive seasons while they drop to the bottom of the standings like other teams. They're all about remaining competitive and being a playoff team at best and they're not gonna trade him for a bad contract (Beal, etc) which could fuk up their cap space.

They're not stupid or desperate enough to get fleeced like how the Nets gave up KD and Kyrie to the Suns and Mavs for scraps or how Washington got bamboozled by giving up Beal for a washed CP3 who they then traded for a player who made them worse than before with no brighter day coming soon, Wizards, despite the bad contract were competitively better off with Beal than they are now.

Miami isn't falling into that trap, Jimmy will be off the books at the end of the season.

I’d wait until the end of the season and let him walk. They have to take on a max deal or find a 3rd team to take on a max deal (someone like Brad Beal, who would have to leave a situation where he’s playing with 2 All Stars). In either case you’re taking on bad money after bad—or giving up younger assets.

There aren’t many $50 million players that teams are looking to move, and if they are they damn sure ain’t moving them for a guy who just intentionally stood in the corner for 2 games because he doesn’t have joy in Miami.

Time for Miami to get a real gm and sit Riley down. It's over he has done nothing and got lucky LeBron wanted to join wade in Miami.

Jimmy is a malcontent overachiever that has burned out every single place he has played. No one wants to be around him
He's done nothing? He built Miami to the franchise it is now. What are you on about? :gucci:

Literally. They want Miami to be in desperation scramble mode and just take whatever for Jimmy. :mjlol:

“But you have to give up Jimmy for something!! Y’all don’t have leverage!!! He’s 35 and injury prone!!!” :damn:

Cap Riley been looking funny in the light ever since Bron left. The fake mob boss gimmick, heat culture, etc. All that goofy stuff has been exposed now.
We've been a top five franchise since Bron left. Hop off of Bron.

Good.

Only player that people have overhyped more in recent years is Edward’s.

Anyone with eyes knows Butler was never a real #1 option. Had a great series or two and people act like he's MJ.
He's a #1 but not that upper crust #1 you can win a championship with. Been alot of guys like that. Carmelo. Gervin. On and on. Kevin Durant may actually be one if these guys too...

He was best suited as a #2 to a championship level 1, but his Miami run proved his chops and will probably get him to Springfield...

He's a little overrated and I don't know how good he is anymore. He's also notoriously a "doesn't play nice" type, which isnt a good thing. But he had a run in Miami alot of guys couldnt carry...
One finals run was the bubble season. The 2nd finals run, they overachieved. Bucks, Celtics & arguably the Knicks were better teams.
Everybody had the same opportunities to get to The Finals the years Jimmy and Miami went. Can't detract him for that!
