I'd imagine that the NSA is already aware of any incoming calls from Putin to an American citizen who has security clearances. The article also states that US officials are aware of the conversations. Does that mean Elon informed them, or is it due to surveillance? Who knows. The question is moreso....was Elon dumb enough to say certain shyt on the phone? The article also claims that Putin asked him to shut off Starlink in Taiwan, as a favor to Xi. If Putin is that comfortable to ask such a wild question - while presumably knowing he's being recorded - it opens up a lot of questions.
Given Elon's racism, antisemitism, unhinged behavior and his weird Trump support I'd hope that the government shytcans all contracts with him after the election is over.

I feel he is only spared because he has a lot of leverage on the government. Our government isn't looking as big and all knowing as most people are led to believe. Both him and Trump are so aware of probably the secrets and internal working of government they can probably now able to use it to strong arm the government itself.
The slow privatization of government over the past decades has in itself weakened it. Power is zero sum. When the government starts to piece meal itself out to private entities, you may as well piece meal out your power. Before this happened billionaires would be taxed 50 percent or more and this many billionaires didn't exist. Most innovation and progress from government programs who worked out of the public good of society. Now the inverse is the case. Private individuals now control the bulk of the power in conjuction with wealth and now they dictate to the government.
It's like people forget the guilded age when this was the case and all the terrible shyt that went along with it and why the government had to wrestle control away from the monied elites during the great depression.
