yea honestly i dont have any issues with paul george
for the vast majority of his career he seemed to put in max effort. it isnt like he zion or something
I agree PG13 more or less maxed out his talent, including coming back from a catastrophic injury on national TV.

His best days just behind him now and they’re probably never coming back. Clippers knew what he was worth and offered him as such. He was better off going to Orlando where the young guys could carry him.

You named three guys total and didn't mention that there was a lockout shortly afterwards. :pachaha:

After the lockout, max deals were 6/$70 million.

Agreed but my point is they were got the inflation-adjusted equivalent of todays supermax deals and still took the game more seriously than today’s young players.

I guarantee you wouldn't even remotely talk to PG this way if you met him on the street.
I mean you can hate on a player but my guy u need help.

The narrative is going to be driven that he cares more about maintaining his podcast than rehabbing to get back on the court....When that lockout hits, he's not going to care...despite being one of the prime offenders.

While he shouldn't be faulted for getting one last payday, but it's pretty obvious that he aint too concerned with rehabbing to get back playing.... that's the check stealing.
Because bitter and/or ignorant fans let FOs push these narratives. Nothing going on with PG is shocking to anyone with sense who has been paying attention. Yet Philly chose to buss it wide open for him. Thats on them.

There is going to be another lockout when the next CBA comes up...with Beal and PG's contracts being the highlight.

I do believe that in a PG/ AD scenario, they should be able to recoup around 50-65% of every game you don't play once you've hit a certain amount of games missed.
Max deals should come with caveats like this just to prevent check stealing

I don’t know about Beal and PG contracts sparking another lockout. I think teams will just stop offering injury prone aging players max contracts.

You mean making sound decisions rather than making new rules that prevent you from making bad ones? :mindblown: what a concept :ohhh:

IKR. Teams had the dumb logic “we gotta spend the money on somebody” or “if we lose him, we’re over the cap so can’t replace him.” In reality it’s better for teams with cap space to give players inflated short term deals like the Hartenstein or Bruce Brown contracts instead. Those types of contracts can always be moved.
