I believe according to NYS law, you must get the check within 45 days of signing the agreement to receive a settlement for damages.
I know someone who was awarded a settlement for damages and her lawyer told her they have 45 days to cut the check.
Obviously we don’t know the details of Cassie’s settlement. So take my info with a grain of salt.
