How do you figure that? Cano got one of the biggest deals in baseball history after signing with Roc Nation. Durant got the biggest sneaker deal in sports history after Roc Nation created a bidding war for KD. Cano and KD would've gotten a lot of money, but no one predicted they'd get nearly as much as they got. People thought there was no way Cano would get $200+ mil. And who would've thought Durant would be getting paid more by Nike than Lebron? And that's not even mentioning how their off the field/court exposure has gone up with Roc Nation. They get it done. They even got an unknown Cuban player will less hype than Puig and Cespedes more money than any other Cuban player ever. Dez will benefit greatly.
Cano and KD would have gotten that without Jay Z. Nike simply matched Under Armours offer.
Cano could have got that without Jay z also. Cano doesn't even have the visibility or notoriety because he's at a shythole losing franchise in the Mariners. The Mariners were desperate to sign a slugger with some sort of name, and tbh, they overpaid for Cano.
KD and Dez didn't need Jay. Jay needs them to further legitimize his sports agency and give it more credibility.
