Final script I found, Season 3 Ep 8 "I See You". The ep after "One Minute" with Hank in the hospital and Gus reveals he knows Walt's bro-in-law is DEA. Also the first ep with Jesse in the super lab.

Script is almost the same as what we saw, a couple scenes with Gus are slightly different, IE Gus is outside the second time he talks to Juan Bolsa instead of at his desk, etc.:

:smugdraper: daps all around.

all the little things that made this show work. the strike, tuco leaving. it was meant to be friends.

about to re watch for the 4th time now

side note- i know people dont like imagining other actors as the lead role. but kevin spacey would have done an amazing job as well. half way through house of cards show is good

@tonyclifton

Kevin Spacey would've been great, and "House of Cards" is :wow:

Even Bryan Cranston being Walt almost didn't happen. Vince Gilligan worked on "X-Files" for 7 years, back in '98 for the 6th season he wrote an ep called "Drive". They needed a guy that played a convincing a$$hole, but also when he died the audience would feel sorry for him. Every actor was :ehh: until Bryan Cranston came in and killed the role.

Fast forward to around '07 and Sony wants John Cusack or Matthew Broderick to be Walter White. Gilligan said "what about Bryan Cranston?".

They were like :rudy::heh: because he's "that guy from 'Malcolm In The Middle'".

Then Gilligan pulled out the "Drive" ep like :youngsabo: and they :whoo::ohlawd:

And the rest is history.

Oh yeah, something else I just remembered.

Mike was never supposed to exist either. The "clean up" scene in season 2 ep 13 was supposed to be Saul.

Bob Odenkirk had a scheduling conflict so Gilligan created a professional "cleaner/goon" named Mike. He picked Jonathan Banks because Gilligan and his college friends were big fans of the 80s TV show "Wiseguy" featuring Banks:

Ironically he was also on "X-Files" in season 9.

He was mostly a nobody though. The kind of actor you see in the background, or commercials, or that only has 1 line in a movie. Prior to "Breaking Bad" his biggest role was a recurring character named Scott Quittman on "Big Love" around '07:

He wasn't hand picked for "Breaking Bad". He sent in an audition tape:

Gilligan was like :ehh:

When they got on set and he seen the chemistry between Cranston and Paul though, it was :wow: which is another reason Gilligan was reluctant to kill him off.
