I could be wrong, but them not confirming deaths could be some way to avoid lawsuits or something.

By saying ppl are "missing" rather than dead, anybody trying to file a suit probably has a harder time doing so.

Because at this point, unfortunately everyone is probably dead, and I hope they are honestly and not suffering, starving, trapped etc.

I saw some of the estimates to fix the condo, I think I read that it would cost about 9 million dollars to fix. If you take the number of units and divide by the 9 million each tenant would need to spend about $69,000 to fix the condo. That's not cheap, my guess was no one probably wanted to spend that much on structural problem.

Bit by bit America's armor is crumbling off. So much of our standing in the world, among other things as well, is our reputation. Stuff like this isn't helping. I don't know how many times, while on the train home, I heard Europeans heading to Newark Airport, saying how disappointed they were in NYC's infrastructure. Then there's our response to Covid-19. The water crisis in Flint. Then what happened in Texas with the electrical grid. Roads are buckling in the northwest along with the droughts and wildfires happening in California. Then this shyt happens. It's not a good look.
NYC for being a world class city is a joke.

Metro is a joke...they're just now getting the screens that let you know when the next train arrives.

California with terrible resources for the homeless population...lack of desalination in CA or high speed rail in Texas.

shyt is a joke.

So going by chance of survival, do those at the top floors have the greatest amount compared to the bottom floor ?

Bottom floors have more stuff fall on top of them , but top floors fall from a higher height.

Nah them top floors got a high fall and then the roof and shyt on the roof like A/C and the equipment that had up there falling on you too.

Bottom floors got everything falling but depending how stuff fall you might be able to hop out a window and out run the debris.

It was $15M
The board of select individuals voted not to repair it cause of cost

Man them HOA be the biggest scams ever, when something break the residents group in to fix it. I heard the HOA or Condo board wanted residents to pay for the repairs, it was like 9 million dollars.

This is money, the residents didn't have it or probably complained about the high fees and maintenance and the HOA held off on some things, the building was in bad shape to have people in. This is a huge disaster and laws will change because of it and all them crooks will go north to minority areas to continue the neglect... they know they messed with them white folks and it's a wrap for them.
Oh hell yes they are.

I lived under em in New Jersey

Outrun a building collapsing ? You would have to be right at the door/window for that.

9 million dollars in repairs does not really point towards being the reason the building collapsed. I've seen shyt sit for decades

Videos above give some good insight through, so maybe it was the deferred repairs. That's some shyt if so

Buddy girlfriend saved his ass big time by telling him not to go home.

He better put a ring on it for good luck.
:mjlol:

Damn he's lucky.

Seeing that couple got me wondering...the building collapsed late at night, when some couples in the building were probably having sex. Imagine that being your final act before death:mjcry:
