first pic is in Santa Teresa, it's a popular tourist spot overlooking and somewhat embedded within a (pretty safe) favelaDamn, Prietos, Mulattoes, and Pardos, cant ever have shiit, smh
first pic is in Santa Teresa, it's a popular tourist spot overlooking and somewhat embedded within a (pretty safe) favela
it has a trolley that tourists hop on and off
those renovated favelas are not common AT ALL
last pic is just some stupid shyt, traficantes get paid off to let foreigners walk around in peace for a few hours. in a way it's good because the residents can chill without worrying about random violence, and it does bring money to local business, but it also finances the dudes with guns who run shyt there
either way, lotta favelas have plenty of white people. i keep tellin yall this is not broken down the same way in brazil, especially in rio. my homegirl down the street from me is blond, her cousin next door is mulata with light brown skin and her other cousin is mulata with dark skin and very curly hair. that's just one family, this one block has so many shades of people living together
