Chicago would be a dope place to take your girl on a trip. The bad parts of Chicago are really bad, but they got alot of really nice parts to. Chicago is definitely a city of two extremes. Chicago probably got the nicest downtown of any city I've ever been to. The Magnificent Mile is fukking dope as hell, if I was rich I would for sure have a spot in one of those buildings just for the summer. And I got a homegirl who moved there and she stay in the Lakeview area and that whole area is cool as hell. Im pretty sure those folks in Chicago who got money and dont live in those areas rarely if at all see that murder game shyt that you always see on the news when they talking about that city

I saw this game on ESPN last night and tuned in for a bit because I actually know and played ball with one of the coaches from Morgan Park. He mentioned this match up a few weeks ago and I was even thinking about going to this game.

If you're familiar with the city, Chicago State University is in the hood. I'm not surprised some shyt like this happened. They just built that new arena not too long ago, so I'm sure it was packed with hood nikkas ready to scrap reppin' their schools.

It's sad, but it is what it is. HS basketball is serious business out here.

Right. I use to hit up some parties at Chicago State when I was in college..and some vicious fights would break out and then you would see somebody boys or cousins walking up from the neighborhood..and it was time to go.

They use to brawl at the basketball tournaments in the burbs too like at the Big Dipper at Rich South.

I been at games where after a hard foul, the player would get up and stack his gang signs and a whole section of the gym would rise up ready for the word to mob the floor.

Shootings outside of football games...

None of this surprises me...especially when dealing with sports.

Every time there's a party at Chicago State some dumb shyt is bound to happen. They lock the dorms down because they don't want nikkas off the street gettin' in there.

It's a damn shame that a lot of schools have to play their football games on Saturday morning because of violence. A lot of schools don't even have lights for night games

chicago is a big city, some of you are painting with broad brushes. some areas are the true definition of ghetto where it's basically for undesirables they don't give a shyt about. as long as they keep it contained to their area, the rest of the city will ignore it. most parts of chicago are probably safer than where you live.

Was in the Chi on vacation last spring. Weird that it was a peaceful and lovely city. Of course we were in a upscale tourist part of town. You would not even know that was going on. Went to Cubs game and all was awesome. We were in the Northside/Downtown. Go and enjoy. All these places y'all talking about, as tourist u wouldn't even know how to get there.

It's funny to me too, people looking in from the outside are like

when it comes to Chicago. If you're on some tourist trip, you'll never be on 95th and King Dr. You'll be downtown or in some suburb somewhere.

Like others, visited like 2 summers ago and is the most beautiful city I've been to. Stayed with my folks in Aurora but I did go visit fam on Southside/Wild 100s...Don't understand (i do really) why nothing is being done there to just not only save young black men but give kids/people who don't even participate in that type life a fukkin chance?
