It shouldn't be too shocking.

Goodell's always going over the top with punishments just so he can look good that always get overturned in court. See Jonathan Vilma, see Ray Rice, see Adrian Peterson

Judge can still uphold 4 game suspension, while killing NFL for lack of independence and evidence. Rule by law of CBA they can do what they want.

Right, but there are no rules in place for this specific situation. Well within NFL's right to make whatever punishment they see fit.

Except there is a rule that says that tampering/deflation of balls is a $25,000 fine.

Goodell/NFL are overstepping the punishment mandated by the CBA by handing out a 4-game suspension to Brady.

Moreover, the CBA does NOT allow the league to hand out whatever punishment it wants.

Patriots vs. Packers TONIGHT at 7:30pm on NFL Network.

Despite Brady's unlikelihood of playing, we're still odds-on favorites to win tonight. Patriots-Packers Odds: New England Favored In Preseason Opener

As stated in the OP, I predict both of these teams to play against each other in the Super Bowl. It'll be interesting to see what both teams are working with during preseason (even if they'll both will be starting 2nd-stringers, etc.)

Let's get this preseason started!
