What's interesting about Pitt is that despite being a Hollywood superstar, he's very much a character actor. Like he might not be the strongest actor (although he's very good), but he does have arguably the widest variety in roles of all major Hollywood stars (l'm talking Will Smith/Johnny Depp kinda fame).

second of all the idea of pitt bein too A list for this doesnt make sense on several levels, but mainly because he's been in several lowbudget movies in the past couple of years. he ain't doin this acting shyt for the $ at this point

I'm probably gonna catch a ton of heat for this, but I put Pitt in the same category as Denzel. Really good actors who get overrated for being likeable guys.

I swear I meant to say more or less this exactly, like 2-3 days ago but I forgot to post it.

I wouldn't even say it's because they're likeable....it's that no matter what role they're in, you see them. There has only been a couple roles where Denzel or Pitt were completely submerged to the point that it wasn't them any more.

I never once watched "True Detective" like "It's McConaughey pretending to be a detective"....you could barely even tell Rust from '95 was the same person in '12.
