I posted positive just because the thread was full of idiots, and good behavior should be rewarded.

But you're speaking truth here. Nothing meaningful is going to change in the community from charity. The problems don't come from greedy people with money failing to donate it. The problems come from how greedy people with money make it and spend it. Until we change the unjust ways in which the whole system works, no amount of charity is going to make a meaningful difference.

I like people who are willing to give out of their own pocket because it can be a first step to actually doing something good. It's easier to convince a charity-minded person to start making a real difference than it is to convince someone who's just spending all their money on women and bling. But if all they ever do is donate money, it won't be good enough.
