I been on team low since the Kobe 4s. I remember having those arguments with my teammates at school. Like the man said, it works for soccer players it works for me. I probably rolled my ankles 20 times before then to not remembering many since.
It’s all about that stability and lockdown in the sole to not tip your foot over in the first place. When your whole weight is bending through your ankles, that shoe material won’t make a difference unless the shoe literally doesn’t flex, which would just move the stress farther up the leg and potentially fukk up your knees
