Prior to the release during xmas week, cats were like, "Oh man, there's half a million pairs out there!"


Even heard upwards of 600,000 pairs.



Everyone either held on to their pairs or production was no where NEAR what the rumour mill was circulating.



There's a sneaker mathmatician that runs estimating sneaker production figures and the breakdown, while utter assumptions, looks convincing.


Here is the extract from the article;

Now that we have a list of the stores that will carry the Kobe 6 Grinch, let’s set up our assumptions

We’ll go with the following:

1. FTL will receive 40% of the total inventory
2. Nike will receive about 30%
3. the remaining major & minor retailers ( and boutiques as well )will receive the remaining 30%

I counted a total of 72 Footlocker physical stores that were going to carry the shoe, so we’ll add the following assumptions

1. Each FTL will receive about 48 pairs
2. FTL online will receive about a 1/2 of the total the physical stores are receiving

Running The Numbers:
Footlocker ( stores)= 72 x 48= 3456 pairs

Footlocker (online)= 3456 x (1/2)=1728 pairs

Footlocker’s total= 5184 pairs let’s stretch it to 5500 pairs

Since Footlocker’s allocation represents about 40% of the total number of pairs produced for the USA then

Total for North America= (5500)+(5500)+(2750)= 13750 pairs let’s say 15,000 pairs

and the number of pairs produced worldwide might fall within the 20,000 pairs <# of pairs produced < 30,000 pairs

PS: As you all know, I always have to add this disclaimer because every single projection that I make is purely based on assumptions that I have set. It is meant to give you an idea of what to expect, I don’t work any of these brands/retailers I mentioned and have no access to their numbers. I’m only using what is available to create plausible assumptions.

If his calculations/approximations are even close to being accurate... the Grinches had QS-like release figures. And given the circumstances/climate of the world and Mamba's passing, hurdles like bots and everyone and their thick auntie having SNKRS app... it was a lose/lose sitchayshun for us shoe afficionados.

A lot of sizes left. Needed a 11.5 but grabbed a 12 in the militia greeniers (throw in some in soles to make 'em fit... they're so uncomfy out the gate so this may be a disguiseful blessing).


Gonna throw in some orange laces and maybe blaze orange the side swoosh.

I've been low key with sneakers lately. got my first adidas ever as daily beaters and they put my recent air max 90s to shame. make em feel like wood.


also never had 97s so i copped these as a daily shoe too that I don't have to worry about. I'm too old to care about the hype anymore so if I find something I like and is clean I cop. even better if on discount.
