I know a nikka that spent $56,000 on these. He bought ppls codes online for $200-$400. And then dropped another $200 for each shoe.. He has something like 120 pairs that he's getting
He may be able to get at least more than half ROI on it though

It's real in the field. But you can't really blame them because there's relatively no risk. With the way the resell market is, no matter what Jordan you buy, you'll always be able to sell it in order to at least be able to get your money back.
