That post got long and I wanted to seperate my reasoning and research from my anecdotes.

This is primarily aimed at the #boycottbrehs who are constantly poking at others for not doing it.

I had a co-worker yap in my ear all last night about the Cowboys shirt that I was wearing talmbout "Man you support them rich white men? They won't sign Colin so I'm not watching. Plus they all racist man!"

So I asked...okay, you're boycotting? He says "Hell yeah:myman:"

I asked...well how are you boycotting? He says "they won't see a damn dollar or get a damn view from me!"

I asked...okay, you cancelled your sports package? Or cable? He says "Nah man I haven't even had cable for 2 years. I cut the cord:myman:"

At this point I'm like :what:so then they haven't gotten a dollar or a view from you for two years? What are you boycotting? He gets all:jbhmm: and says "Iono but still. fukk the NFL."

I pulled up the list of sponsors. Showed it to him. Asked him if he spent money with any of those companies. He hit the :dwillhuh::merchant::whoa: "Come on man you know I gotta rep team Ford!" (he drives a newer like 2014ish F150).

And that was the end of that. If you're not willing to put real skin into this "boycott" please leave me the fukk alone and let me enjoy the sport, please?

you cant boycott one entity unless you boycott all entities?

Again just keep it real and say that you value the NFL more than any social issues and watch the sport......you dont have to justify it to anybody

I think people heart is in a good place, but honestly kap should be starting, he won't, so let's say all this and he gets a back up role did we accomplish anything???

Keep in mind the owners of these teams are of the 1% so they make their money independent of the league, teams are play things for these folks/tax shelters, so let's say the cowboys were to implode because of lack of support, jerrys going to report a loss, keep more of his money, and eat less in taxs, and the oil company will still be rocking, along with his other investments, mean while a bunch of us will not have a job

I really don't know the answer, but boycotting was not necessarily it

I never said or implied that.

My point was...here he is criticizing me for supporting "racist rich white men" (his words, not mine) by buying and wearing a 24.99 Cowboys shirt, but...he bought a $30,000 truck and a $99 Sirius XM subscription. That money went to Ford and Sirius XM, who used some of it to pay the NFL the advertise their product.

I'm not AGAINST the protest itself. I'm against brehs walking around like their shyt don't stink, telling me what I'm doing wrong, and it turns out your money is supporting the same league you're "boycotting" just like mine is?

I can at least be honest and say...I'm going to watch games and wear shirts even with all the controversy. Why can't y'all be honest and say you care more about your F150 and Sirius XM than you do about protesting?

This is 100% correct. You have a lot of brehs trying to cut their nose off to spite their face. If anything the black community needs to rally behind the NFL player's association so that we can get more of that money into our hands and control it.
We can do both

Boycott the NFL and some of their sponsors too.
That's exactly what I'm suggesting. Say fukk the NFL, trade your Ford in, sell your Surface Pro, and let everybody know why you did it. If you gone talk that shyt, WALK that shyt!

well then he is silly if that was his argument....

If his argument is that he is not specifically supporting the NFL because of the Kapernick situation then he would have a more legitimate case....

As for not supporting all of the entities that support or advertise with the NFL that would be pretty hard to do......do they have a list of their sponsors/advertisers available for public review anyway?

HOWEVER its is easy to single out the NFL because it is easily indentifiable in the whole situation......and to try to dismiss that part is AMUSING to say the least

Again I am not going to sermonize or demonize people for watching sports.......the world will go on even after this Kap situation plays out....

but again if someone says that you value sports over social issues then they arent wrong either

Good point.

Boycotting the NFL only helps the billionaire owners. Hurts the players.

So unless you are boycotting due to CTE concerns the boycott is very misguided and distorts the intentions.

Also a good point about white supremacist boycotting to punish athletes that don't stand during the anthem. This also benefits their cause too

dudes on this forum are fukking weirdos when it comes to football. IDK how or why but a lot of these nikkas treat nfl football as the frontlines of the civil rights movement instead of what it is....a game.

Clownery hit it's apex for me when nikkas framed the superbowl as "black america's team vs white america's team" for three straight years:hhh: shyt was beyond corny. Thats when I knew this wasn't the board for good football talk

The boycott shyt at this point is just attn whoring.
