Rules/Guidelines
- To place your vote, simply type in the name of the person you're voting for.
- An explanation would be great, but it's not a requirement.
- If you do choose to give an explanation, make sure it's clear and concise. If I have to read your post and have a hard time guessing you're choosing, your vote will not count
- You cannot change your mind. Once you place your vote, it's final
- Voting will be open for 48 hours (2 days)
- If a fighter has a 12+ vote lead (with a minimum of 20 votes) after 24 hours, a mercy rule will be enforced
- If 48 hours pass and the vote is tied, there will be an extended 24 hour overtime period
- If it is still tied after that 24 hour period, we will go into sudden death, and the next vote will win

Lennox comes into this fight undertrained, unmotivated and out of shape...sleep walks thru the 1st few rounds...and in the 5th rd shockingly gets caught with a sneaky left hook which dazes him...Ruiz jumps on him to finish him and peppers him with conbinations forcing the ref to jump in and halt the bout.

I wouldn't even rate his jab top 10 all-time in the division personally...think it's the most overrated aspect of his offense.

Can't get out of my head him getting outjabbed by both Mercer & Bruno...actually think Ruiz might have the better jab here

If Lewis beats Ruiz it would have to be by being aggressive and pressing the attack, forcing Ruiz to fight going backwards which he's terrible at and roughhousing him on the inside when Ruiz goes to clinch and wrassle...Lews could fukk around and find himself getting outboxed and outjabbed by Ruiz...like he was against Mercer & Bruno for stretches of their fights if he tries to box and outjab Ruiz.

Ruiz was one of Lennox's sparring partners....which means Ruiz knows Lewis well but not enough to guarantee a victory. Lewis all the way

Lennox Lewis by Decision

He's the overall better boxer, but he sometimes fights down to his competition and can be made to look bad against lesser fighters. He'll get buzzed by a sneaky right hand from Ruiz, but will still do enough to outwork the Quiet Man for most of the fight. He might even score a knockdown or two. Norman Stone will also get into it with Steward and the ref. Both fighters can get dirty an will do so in their match just like when they sparred each other.

Ugly fight nonetheless, but a clear win for LL

Lewis was crafty, powerful and dirty, Ruiz only had one path to victory a methodical use of plodding followed by smothering foe. Lewis would match the power and have Ruiz befuddled.

But, this tournament is supposed to be about them at their physical/mental/athletic peaks.....I cant see Lennox Lewis fully focused, in shape, with Manny in his ear struggling with no damn John Ruiz of all people


I think Lennox Lewis vs Hashim Rahman II when I see this matchup.....THAT Lennox Lewis shows up.

I looked at it as we'd be matching dudes up against each other in their primes at their very best.

Like for example. Bowe from the 1st Holy fight going against Tua from the Ike or Ruiz fight.

I think a prime LL would still look bad against a prime Ruiz, but would still win clearly.

I mean can a prime Ruiz beat a lazy don't give a fukk Lewis, perhaps, but why match a nikka at his peak against a better dude who is unmotivated. We supposed to be on some Fight Night shyt.
