he never encountered that kind of strength and power.... he also never encountered a fighter who wasnt fighting out of a stance with both hands down at their waist stood straight up like a stick and pulled straight back from punches. that era... in general... was inferior to the era that tua fought in. none of those fighters could compete today. throwing jim jeffries name out there means as much as throwing out a random white players stats from the nba in the 40's. its supposed to be who you think would win head 2 head. its not who had more legacy and more historical impact. jack johnson coming across the ring to meet tua... with those hands down his chin all the way in the air standing straight up like he did... get tossed to the bushes

explain what makes jack johnson a better boxerJack is the better overall boxer but I don't think he'd be able to withstand an onslaught from a prime Tua.
explain what makes jack johnson a better boxer
jack johnson didnt have a jab. he wasnt a jabber. he threw crude caveman looking punches and he fought with both of his hands down on his waistline. he didnt move or use the ring and stood right in front of opponents with no upper body movement. you said he has good technique or better grasp of basics... i cant see it. im call it how i see it and say youre just saying that to say it because it sounds good. i dont understand how he would defend being hit by a left hook.... standing straight up with his right glove down on his hip. tua would see that right glove down and that jaw exposed and let that left hook fly at him as soon they got in the middle of the ring.Better technique, better defense, better jab, just an overall better grasp of the basics.

its looking like jack johnson is about to advance but for the wrong reasons. hes getting too much name recognition... instead of how he really fought.
