naw I think its certified that he is the hardest of all time pound fof pound....I just don't think he outboxes ike who also has great punching power and a good chin.....shyt prime punching power tua aint nothing to scoff at.

David Tua is the best fighter that Ike got in the ring with though.....Shavers fought Ali, Holmes, Norton, Young.

I dont think Ike ever got the chance to be "exposed", because he didnt get the opportunity to fight enough or good enough opponents, and I believe Shavers would defeat him.

Tua's punching power was not on Shaver's level

Both are in the upper echelon of ATG punchers...i would probably put Shavers power slightly ahead of Tua's...just slightly...only because Shavers has equally brutal power in both hands...but they're more or less on par with eachother as far as punching power... Tua's best punch his left hook is about as powerful as Shavers overhand right/right uppercut...and Ike was eating them thangs (from Tua) without blinking, Ike's chin was tested and passed with flying colors. And Shavers doesn't have the skills to "expose" Ike...Byrd is far more skilled and crafty than Shavers and Ike dispatched of him in 5 rds. Based on Ike being able to handle big shots over 12 rds from a puncher who's power is about on par with Shavers, there's no reason to believe he couldn't take Shaver's shots as well...but we know for certain Shavers wouldn't be able to take what Ike's dishing out. Shaver's didn't have the best defense, chin or gas tank.

Based on Ike being able to handle big shots over 12 rds from a puncher who's power is about on par with Shavers, there's no reason to believe he couldn't take Shaver's shots as well...but we know for certain Shavers wouldn't be able to take what Ike's dishing out. ron lyle fought a war with foreman took all his best shots and said shavers hit harder. among his own peers which is thought to be the greatest era of heavyweights ever he is rated to be the best puncher ever. shavers was knocked out by a few guys and has losses. but he fought some of the best fighters that ever lived. ibeabuchi fough chris byrd and david tua. ibeabuchi is a boogeyman like a lot of boxing boogeymen a lot of them is built up around the imaginary or what things they would do or could do in theory. everything with shavers that you can say about him is real. i have to go with shavers out of respect to the level he fought on which is real.
