I agree Marco Polo was kinda corny, but also CATCHY! Mostly thanks to Soulja Boy. But I dont think Bow Wow's career was ruined due to that. I think Bow Wow's career being in the shytter was inevitable when he reached puberty like someone already stated. He was mostly known for being that little kid rapper that everyone liked, it was like his gimmick. But when he grew up no one cared or took him seriously. He couldn't rap about certain thing, because no one would take him seriously. They KNEW where he came from and it was not the struggle.
And yeah I agree 05-09 was DEFINITELY one of the worst eras. That was when gangsta rap died down and these stupid goofy dancing songs like Marco Polo,Stanky leg, laffy taffy, crank dat songs, etc were at an all time high!
No offense to southern rap music(since I DO listen to trap), but this was when southern rap music was at its HIGH and worst imo. I prefer the new hardcore trap influenced southern music like Migos, Gucci, Future, 2Chainz, Peewee, Travis Porter, Cash out, Waka and Young Thug(
cant believe I listed him) and Lucci than that cornball dancing shyt back then. Thank God BOTH Bow Wow and Soulja are irrelevant in music. I hated that era. Especially growing up in middle school and the 9th grade...
