"the culture" is probably the most abused term in our lexicon. its lost all meaning.
people sitting around streaming themselves talking about the latest goings on of industry plants who make shytty, microwave, lackluster music...or at best, conduct interviews with and/or accept repost-promo payola from those same plants, are not "the culture." putting yourself on by reposting, critiquing and reviewing content other people actualy create isnt "the culture"
besides maybe Dame , who is looking and sounding kinda shaky right now anyway, I cant name one person who unironically uses the term "the culture" that actually contributes to the culture in an interesting, creative, exciting or forward thinking way at all
urban media and rap twitter really is the dregs of the entertainment world. its great that the barrior of entry is so low, because people are eating. people eating is a wonderful thing. but lets not get it twisted
when do you ever hear real artists who give everything to the craft, big beatmakers and producers who set trends, the A&Rs who fight to get the crazy songs with less than 1000 likes at the time of discovery heard, people who are throwing shows and parties dolo without corporate sponsors, venue owners hosting shows no one else will take a risk on, the kids doing awesome design and video work and all that while holding down real jobs, etc... when do you see people like that hop on twitter and IG rant about "the culture??"
nope... its always the sideline commentators and influencers looking to springboard into fame off of the work done by the people mentioned above who rant about "the culture" and act like they're the gate keepers or the ones giving out the culture points. the people who actually really make up the culture are too busy doing real shyt
