And like Op said, the best part for about Mass is being able to hike a mountain and see this, or go cliff jumping and exploring waterfalls and then being able to drive an hour and some change to a beach.

Ludlow is like 15 minutes away from me.

Worcester is like 45 minutes..

Ludlow is mostly white, middle to upper class with nothing to do and Worcester is more lower class and racially diverse with some stuff to do. Some of the coolest people I've met have been from Worcester
You can say this about 90% of big American cities.

I was told that the music scene was dope, but idk now since the nikka that told me this is from Boston :wtb:

to be honest. i havent spent much time in Boston, and when I did i mostly went to punk and alt rock shows.. if youre into stuff like that the underground scene is thriving, although i know there was a thing for a bit where cops were infiltrating a lot of that underground music scene and shuttin down venues because the independent, anti-authoritarian and anarchist ideologies associated with that kinda music but its still doin good.

Boston has some good history in terms of underground music though. Ed O.G is comes to mind. and there's some good record stores.

Massachusetts music scenes are very much independently run, at least places like Haverhill, and Western Mass are (where i spent most of my time) as i assume, a lot of places are.. im sure the same applies to the hip hop scene in Boston, you just gotta speak to the right people and find out

I've lived in Boston and I'll agree with the OP.

Boston has that certain stigma that's hard to shake. You'd have to be there to understand how diverse the city and the south suburbs are. You'll meet all types of people. It's a lot of money out there too.

The traffic is horrific tho. :scusthov:

Night life is ass too for the demographic that posts here.

Nah, it closes between midnight and 1.

Cot damn 1am?
My nyc brehs, could you imagine if the mta shutdown at 1am???

That's the music scene me and dude were talking about, the underground rock . I'm very particular with the type of punk I want to hear when I'm in the mood for it, but ol' boy was trying to put me on to that new wave ska type shyt :camby:, but yeah, he said the scene is diverse overall so I guess he wasn't fukkin' with me. I'm sure there has to be decent Jazz spots and everything else too.

The hip hop scene wouldn't really matter much too much to me since I get most of my "underground" shyt from online nowadays anyways.:yeshrug: Whatever the case may be, I'm positive that the music scene anywhere is better than SC. Even the Ludlow scene might give us a run for our money down here:wow:

woof. yeah, Massachusetts is great for underground rock/alt rock whether its stuff like Dinosaur Jr (j mascis actually is from and lives in western mass and they play a few shows here a year) or if you're more into stuff like fast, heavy pissed off hardcore/punk like Black Flag.. easily one of the best perks of living in Mass.. we're really spoiled when it comes to our underground music scene.

If you decide to move to Mass, let me know and I can hook you up with some info on venues to check out that frequently have music like that.

there would be legit riots.
people would just start jacking trains and buses picking up people on their own.

btw, driving in and around Boston is absolutely terrible.
after living in NYC and being used to a grid system for street layouts,
Boston's incomprehensible maze of winding and twisting streets was nauseating.
the lack of street signs was very uninviting for anyone who does not live there
and NOBODY knows where anything is or even where they are at the moment if you ask for directions.

some people told me that cow paths got turned into roads, then major streets and that is why the layout of the city is the way it is....i totally believe it.

shout out to WBUR though. Boston's NPR station is top notch.

I stopped reading as soon as I saw "liberal". Negro please. That place is racist as hell. And giving some passes to some white gay people doesn't really make them that liberal.

It is, especially near the Financial District and towards the North End, Milk St. or School St. actually refer to places where that shyt was. Boston is mad old man, that's also another problem, it's old and it's shytty. The MTA may be pretty nasty but nothing compares to the oldest transit system in North America being shytty because they don't do shyt and the MBTA is always broke.

It's also not liberal at all just because the South End has a white male gay strong hold and a few Democrats. :comeon:

Southie is still racist as shyt, so is Charlestown, and Somerville. White trash are notorious in Boston. :scusthov:

At least we had Hootie and the Blowfish :sadcam:

But yeah, the music mostly depends on mood, but I definitely lean more towards classic rock and thrashcore, harder type shyt when I'm on a rock trip:demonic:. I do have some Dinosaur Jr. and I had J. Mascis's Several Shades of Why since you mentioned him

My options right now are Mass, Washington State, Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia and North Dakota, so we'll see what's good.
