Four Years - $115 Million Dollars For Jaylen Brown. While Kris Dunn may be glued to the bench this season after seeing Coby White tear shyt up.
He took Bradley and Crowder's spot.
With this contract the Celtics are banking on Jaylen becoming an All Star. Now let's see what Brandon Ingram's extension looks like.....
Marcus Smart is NBA All Defensive 1st Team. Brandon Ingram is still a twig getting pushed around and trying to ball hog his way to the deal that Jaylen just signed.
Kris Dunn or Jaylen Brown?
One of only 9 members of his draft class to get an extension thus far.
And there's zero chance he's going to be better than Ingram. No chance cue the Vince McMahon theme song
And who is Jaylen Brown starting over on opening night? Bradley? Crowder? He gone be sitting on the bench on opening night like he should be cuz he's not good enough to take Crowder's spot yet

Yes Marcus Smart is a top 3 backcourt defender, I consider him and Avery as 1 and 1-B. I personally think Marcus is the more versatile defender as he covers 1-4 with success at times, he just bigger and stronger than AB.
When I say that Ingram is an overrated shooter is because he had no shooting out burst.
And strength/weight means a ton in the NBA. Brandon is gonna be pushed all around offensively and will be wore down defensively until he puts on some weight. Tired arms shoot a lot worse so I can see him shooting 29% from 3 year one on some Durant shyt until he gets some weight on him. He looked wiry strong in college but we know everyone in the NBA is strong.

I hope you guys are watching the Summer League. I watched all 3 of them a ton in college so I know it passes the eye test for me. This will be the Jaylen Brown rookie year thread for me so we will see how close my projections are as the season progresses.
Just for comparison sake, I included the freshman year stats, of Artest, Rudy and Jaylen and I'm seeing some striking similarities.
Ron Artest - Height: 6-6 ▪ Weight: 244
St. John's 1997-1998: 31 Games Played | 34.2 MPG | 11.6 PPG | 41.5 FG% | 32.7 3P% | 52.6 FT% | 6.3 RB | 1.9 AST | 1.6 STL | 1.1 BLK | 2.8 TO | 2.9 DWS
Rudy Gay - Height: 6-9 ▪ Weight: 220
UConn 2004-2005: 31 Games Played | 28.8 MPG | 11.8 PPG | 46.2 FG% | 46.7 3P% | 70.8 FT% | 5.4 RB | 1.5 AST | 0.8 STL | 1.9 BLK | 2.0 TO | 2.4 DWS
Jaylen Brown - Height: 6-7 ▪ Weight: 225
California 1997-1998: 34 Games Played | 27.6 MPG | 14.6 PPG | 43.1 FG% | 29.4 3P% | 65.4 FT% | 5.4 RB | 2.0 AST | 0.8 STL | 0.6 BLK | 3.1 TO | 1.8 DWS
Body wise Jaylen compares favorably with both, having those long wingspans and solid bases. Jaylen has Gay level athleticism while having Artest like motor. I just don't see how that's not an All Star 2 way player.
Kris Dunn or Jaylen Brown?
Dunn rather easily, but this is more about my opinion on Brown than anything
I think he's a bum. He's a guy who clearly studied LeBron and thinks he can do the same shyt and have the same results.
Dunn is gonna be a fukking beast
Dunn
I'm gonna love to up this thread when people are voting for Jaylen for the all star game in 2 years.
I just found the perfect comparison, Jaylen is a sane Indiana Ron Artest. That same Ron Ron averaged 25 one season while still locking people up. And Ron Ron was never Skip with the handles. A SG/SF hybrid just has to left to right and body jukes and a good first step and they will eat in today's game off the drive (look at Derozan).
Not to mention motor. He goes hard every single play and is a beast physically. I feel that most people underestimate that just pure hunger can separate people. I have never seen a talented prospect, with good IQ with a strong motor fail. Ever
This may be one of the most insane things I've ever read on here lol
Dunn, Brown looks like a bust to me
If your best attribute is supposedly your defense, and you were a top 3 pick, you have bust written all over you. I was never fan of Jaylen Brown. He can't shoot, can't dribble, and can't pass. Absolutely sold out in the tournament.
I have no idea what Ainge was thinking, but I wouldn't be surprise if Brown didn't even make the Rookie/Sophomore game.
