TOYS R US PUTS BREAKING BAD FIGURES ON INDEFINITE SABBATICAL
Bryan Cranston shares his thoughts.
22 OCT 2014 BY LUKE KARMALI
Toys R Us has announced it's pulling all Breaking Bad toys from its stores after more than 8,500 people signed an online petition calling for their removal.
As we previously reported, Florida mother Susan Schrivjer feels that the Walter White figure in particular isn't appropriate considering it comes with a little tray of (plastic) crystal meth.
The superstore chain opted to release a tongue-in-cheek statement about the situation, which reads: "Let's just say, the action figures have taken an 'indefinite sabbatical'."
For her part, Schrivjer added the following update to the original petition: "It's One Small step!!!! Let's keep this up so Toys R Us stores all over will make this right decision!!!!"
Theirs weren't the only statements made about the matter, however. Bryan Cranston, Walter White himself, took to his Twitter account following the news to exclaim "Florida mom petitions against Toys 'R Us over Breaking Bad action figures.’ I'm so mad, I'm burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest."
A Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul was revealed earlier this year, with Breaking Bad creator and Better Call Saul executive producer Vince Gilligan saying that he’d like to see both Cranston and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) make an appearance on the new series.

MOTHER STARTS PETITION AGAINST BREAKING BAD TOYS IN TOYS R US
The Walter White figure comes with a tray of plastic drugs.
20 OCT 2014 BY LUKE KARMALI
A Florida-based mother has started a petition against retail giant Toys R Us after taking umbridge at the store's decision to sell figures of Breaking Bad's Walter White.
The Hollywood Reporter explains Susan Schrivjer feels that the figure isn't appropriate considering it comes with a little tray of (plastic) crystal meth.
"Anything to do with drugs is not doing the right thing," she said, before adding she was "appalled" and requesting the company reevaluate its "visions and values". In just under a week, the petition has picked up over 1,000 signatures.
Toys R Us has issued a statement explaining the toys are listed as suitable for children aged 15 and over, and also asserting they're found in the section allocated for adult figures.
