be reality, where would you see him if you're not listening to him? with streaming, we all listen to music in bubbles, there are no video channels, people who watch his videos are fans. you wouldn't click on an interview or podcast with him because you wouldn't know the name. we aint reading magazines like the source or XXL no more to see people on covers, and he's not all over award shows. it's easier now to not know music by big acts nor know what they look like because we can opt into only the stuff we want to hear/see

He’s ranked 99th in the world on Spotify, has performed on televised shows such NBA All Star Weekend, VMAs, BET awards etc. as well as being top billing/first two rows on every major festival every year damn near. That’s reality. Most people have been exposed to him one way or another.

You don’t have to listen to an artist to at least know their name or know what they look like, especially with someone who stands out in a crowd like Lil Uzi or Playboi Carti. I know a ton of artists who I’ve never listened to or even searched up.

We literally are on a site that has 10+ pages full of threads that include the name “Lil Uzi Vert” in the title :mjlol:

It’s okay not to understand why someone is popular, but no need to shyt on the listeners or people curious about dude lol

bro, there are people who been at BET who i have no clue who they are, didn't catch their name when announced and they got so much shyt on stage i wouldn't recognize them just based on seeing them once, Uzi also looks nothing like he did in 2017...

the popular festivals like coachella, rolling loud, etc are for younger people and mostly feature younger artists at this point except for the festivals that are built around legacy acts (lovers and friends, rock the bells). you think someone who doesn't listen to Uzi, Trippie, Lil Baby etc is going to see them as top billing for a festival line up and buy tickets to that festival? :dahell:

same with you mentioning threads, it's a million threads on griselda, i don't listen to them so i don't click the threads, and i don't know what none of them nikkas look like despite being able to name two of them based on seeing their names in other discussions...seeing a name doesn't equal knowing a face

i'll just disagree with you, there are artists i actually listen to who i don't know what they look like or didn't know what they looked like until waaay later. shyt's different now, if you not searching out videos of these cats, it's easy as hell to add some shyt to a playlist and not engage with them outside of when a song comes on your playlist
