The only thing I feel bad about is the people who have created memorials for lost/dead loved ones and those who have formed safe spaces for support through FB groups. If this goes on, that's going to be devastating for some people. But I stopped using FB when they suggested primate videos for people who viewed black men being beaten. I knew something insidious was afoot.

From the words of the whistleblower:
'We need to admit reality,' Facebook whistleblower says. Here's what might happen next - CNN

The 37-year-old former Facebook product manager who worked on civic integrity issues at the company says the documents show that Facebook knows its platforms are used to spread hate, violence, and misinformation, and that the company has tried to hide that evidence.

"The thing I saw at Facebook over and over again was there were conflicts of interest between what was good for the public and what was good for Facebook, and Facebook over and over again chose to optimize for its own interests, like making more money," Haugen told "60 Minutes."

I agree but I also feel bad for employees. Outside of finance and Healthcare tech pays the highest salaries. It’s bad news for our tech industry in general.

Who should control the content. Facebook or its users? Is facebook the only place where hate, violence, and misinformation are spread? and what kind of misinformation is it? I think its more on a case by case scenario with certain things. And also people having to be better analyzers of information. Opinions shouldn't hold the same merits as threats but of course you never know when an opinion can turn into a threat.

This is an example of how Web 3.0 will change the internet completely.

The importance of decentralization expands to much more than just financial institutions. Look at how centralized our data is, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Apple and MS control so much of our everyday behaviors that when you think about a scenario where this stuff fails or gets lost, the implications are huge.

We have all this information, data, content on these platforms that we don't even own that can be wiped for various reasons or malfunction

:whew:
yep exactly it's like everyone going to the same 3 gas stations
