Have you read it? Either way without giving away too much I'll say yes the ending did fukk me up but moreso it was the overall tone of the story. The allegory was strong enough that you could see all of the ways people could reason themselves into cannibalism. We see, experience, and act out the same type of cognitive dissonant behavior everyday :francis:
Yeah i read it not too long ago. the ending was fukked but yeah the overall thing was pretty out there. did you like it or nah?

Flew thru these two right here. It was my first time(s) reading anything by this author & I'm not mad at all :ehh:

Cuh has a very raw & visceral storytelling pen that is both gritty & cinematic.

Blacktop was pretty much damn near an action movie and you can feel the desperation from da main breh throughout the entire thing leaking off the pgs.

All Sinners Bleed was prob my fav of the 2 if I had to choose. Kind of gave me urban True Detective vibes at times with the religion, crime, set in the South.

Very unapologetic & emotionally charged work by S.A. Cosby who might need sum new initials in front of dat name :what:

These both sound like excellent reads. Just copped both. good looking out

I've actually heard of the book name but not looked up what the story is about but i can pretty much guess what happens going off the title and the cover alone..

It's hard for me to say whether I liked it or not, given the subject matter

I finished it in a day because I couldn't put it down. It's definitely very well written, so by those metrics yes you could reasonably say I liked it:manny:

But it don't feel like I liked that muthafukka :francis:

Just finished The Alchemist. It was a simple yet fun read, especially the twist at the end about the treasure.

It's not going to win any awards about prose or dialogue or even subtext but it's amazing at selling you the theme of the story. Strive to fulfil your destiny.

It's far to easy for the modern world to crush you down, to bog you down to the point you don't even think about what your dream is, let alone taking actionable steps toward your dream.

And if you can't actively pursue your dream for whatever reason you'll never achieve your destiny.

Next is Heart of Darkness:

I finished the first book for the broken earth trilogy; the Fifth season. It was fire, started kind of slow but the twist in the end had me jumping like crazy.

My girl's gonna lend me the 2nd book, I can't wait to start.

I was looking at some post on Reddit and it's funny how posters were saying they love the writing but the characters were unlikeable and I guess they couldn't relate to them... I understand now everyone can relate to oppressed people
:mjpls:

I seen lots of mentioned of Schaffa "imagine a racist black cop who enjoys hurting and teaching black children that their blackness is evil" being one of the only likeable characters
:mjpls:

Man fukk Schaffa

Just finished this piff :whew:

And lol +rep @ the smoke for that fboy, Schaffa :russ: . Shouts to Syen of many names for paying bro byke for what he did to the cold crush :salute: .

All in all, a good read & story of pain, power and survival. Very gritty, grounded, sci-fi that does it's thing touching on the erasure and fragmentation of identity :francis:

Having the one story be a 2nd person pov was writer's gold too cuz the realization hit that harder :obama:

Finished both.

Monster was a good read. Reads like an episode of law and order.

Shooter, was written well. Made me angry though. Sad that the world can be like that.

Finally finished up You Like It Darker by Stephen King.
I really liked Cujo and Rattlesnakes was a good follow-up. Seemed like Duma Key might've also been connected but I haven't gotten around to reading that yet.
I think the only one that I thought was meh was Willie the Weirdo.
