On some real talk, how many people actually paid attention to Bones lyrics back in the day?

I say that because this thread actually made me think about the fact that nobody actually quotes Bone bars, just the song singy parts like “why do I stay high” or “ I miss my uncle Charles y’all”

Bizzy's verse on Notorious Thugs might be an exception

Some songs are easier to catch their lines, for example

90s shyt. That’s why the movies like Friday became hood classics, every hood in America could relate to waking up and engaging in daily fukkery with your friends on the block.

Between selling dummy rocks and robbing nikkas at gunpoint they were doing what they had to do to survive

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

nikkas was on bullshyt the whole song:dahell:

Let’s start with Krayzie verse. This nikka wakes up and immediately starts talking about drinking 40’s, smoking weed and buying cocaine. Then is kind enough to give you a pro tip to throw the cocaine out the if the cops come, but to keep your money. Then after a day full of drugs and crime, invites his nikkas to go to his mom house to eat cause she grilling. Moms probably like :what:

Then Bizzy come on. This nikka waking up late as fukk talking bout he see his sister already dressed. nikka get ya lazy ass up. She ask this man to make sure no one snatches her check, and this man literally steals his sisters check to go get a dub:gucci: Then he also advises you to toss the coke when the cops come. Why do these nikkas keep buying cocaine and just to toss it :gucci:

Now Wish Bone, which may be the worst of them all. Wish the worst type of nikka. Talking bout gotta find them dubs, but then says can I get a $40:martin: nikkas always trying to get a deal smh. Then he goes to the block talking bout he don’t like nikkas standing on his corner and brags about selling dummy rocks, which fukks up the money on the block. Then warns anyone coming back to complain that he will shoot them:mjtf: Then he talking bout he gotta go home and count his money but gotta watch out for the robbers. nikka you the one out here doing the fukk shyt, dudes gotta watch out for you.

So Layzie Bone wakes up talking bout he bent, and next thing he does is takes a 5th to the dome :beli: Then he calls up Krayzie to ask if his momma check came in :dahell: Then dude hops on a bus with Bizzy to go get drunk, smoke hella weed and black n milds, then decides to go get his hair braided. Talking bout it was looking wild. Should have got that shyt braided before you got drunk and high all day smh. Then he goes on to talk about how much dope he be selling on the block but them nikkas waiting on Krayzie Bone momma to get paid and stealing Bizzy Bone sister check :hhh:
"nikkas just ignant. Love being... singing 'bout ignorance. I heard some song the other day, "It's the first of the month." nikkas are singing welfare carols! "On the first day of welfare my true love gave to me... I wish you a Merry Welfare and a Happy Food Stamp!"" - Chris Rock
