I expected a big game from Collins just b/c the trade deadline passed. I think the Hawks will allow the market to set his value in FA and we’ll go from there. But if the Hawks are gonna max him off a meaningless regular season game in March ima be pissed

That would be short sighted IMO. How we do in the playoffs shouldn’t impact his deal. If he’s a long term piece one playoff run (good or bad) shouldn’t be the ultimate decider. It should be body of work and how we see him progressing and where we think the value will be with his deal.

For his production he’s not a max guy. He’s not All NBA, he’s not really even a fringe All Star. He’s good for what he does and deserves a contract in that $90 mil range the Hawks offered...I don’t think he’s worth more than that

While I may agree with you regarding JC not being worth the Max, he has already earned more than 90 mil on his next contract due to the lack of quality stretch 4s league wide. Bogdan received a 72M contract. You are dreaming if you think JC won’t get 100M. I wish the hawks didn’t pay Gallo and offered that to JC however maybe they give him a 3-4 yr deal.

While I may agree with you regarding JC not being worth the Max, he has already earned more than 90 mil on his next contract due to the lack of quality stretch 4s league wide. Bogdan received a 72M contract. You are dreaming if you think JC won’t get 100M. I wish the hawks didn’t pay Gallo and offered that to JC however maybe they give him a 3-4 yr deal.

He’ll get higher than the max but if a PF needy team throws him a max deal in FA I don’t think the Hawks would or should match it

going by the history of the NBA, you need a superstar to win a title. I think with Trae, JC & Hunter we can possibly lure a superstar here in the future via free agency unless one of our guys just turns into a monster

to be honest...I have no clue what to expect from this team from here on out lol

I believe they’ll take a L tonight tho

But I’m more or less just watching to see which young player will make a leap as we push for the playoffs
