Last night was the first post-season game that I cut off... :skip:

Like somebody else said we don’t got nobody that can stop their players on defense.

We can still win Game 4, but the defensive intensity has got to improve. We basically quit in the 3Q which is strange considering it was a 5 point game going into half. Sixers had 6 guys in double figures and as y’all have mentioned were much more physical than us in the paint and on the perimeter.

Gonna have to re-evaluate the double on Joel b/c he actually had a much more effective game passing out of the double team even tho he “only” scored 27.

Our bench has to play better, Huerter, Lou and Gallo have to be better (even tho I don’t think Lou is capable of more than 6-8 points at this stage of his career). OO is a rookie so I can’t be too mad but he looked completely overwhelmed trying to guard D12/Embiid

And like I said in the playoff thread, these will be John Collins last few games as a Hawk. Let the Kings or Grizzlies or whoever pay him $120 million, this team needs to go after more length and physicality, too much finesse

Gallo at Center. :yeshrug: So Joel can't clog paint on Trae

Im just hoping Solo doesn’t start again, he’s been a net negative rating the entire series. I’d rather go

Trae
Bogi
JC
Gallo
Clint

@FreshFromATL I’d prefer more playmakers on the floor than playing small. We still have to defend and rebound but I do agree that Gallo needs to start and yes have him defend Joel, Clint on Simmons

Sounds like Nate is ready to get radical with the game plan and I don’t blame him. Might as well throw the kitchen sink and see what works. We’re playing with house money at this point…

“We knew it was going to be tough," McMillan said. "Everything will be on the table as far as how we come out and play because their size is a factor and they just pretty much pounded us in the paint tonight and we’ll see if we can make some adjustments here."

These next few games are critical for Collins IMO. Unless, he plays better and lead us to a 6 or 7 game series, I’d offer him the exact same 4 year $90 million deal the Hawks offered last summer. If another team offer more then :hubie:

Guys have to play bigger inside and attack the paint, attack the boards. I understand that 3’s are a big part of how we win but we had too many quick shots and then Philly would get the rebound and outlet for a basket. Defensively we need to play with more effort. We did none of that in the 3rd Q.

Hopefully Nate comes up with his best lineup and rides those guys. I don’t wanna see Solo unless it’s a necessity. Snell, OO and Huerter have to give us better minutes tomorrow

It’s gonna take Trae getting him involved early and often but hopefully he plays like he wants to stay in Atlanta. He has these lapses where I can’t really tell where his focus is

I agree from a “concept” perspective about guys playing bigger in the paint but ultimately Clint, Collins, and OO just isn’t strong enough to do it against Philly’s frontline. Those three generally are able to “out-athletic” most teams but Philly has size and athleticism. Gallo and Dre are probably the strongest players in our froncourt and it isn’t close which is saying something.

Which reminds me…Clint, OO, and especially Collins need to be in the weight room every damn day this summer. Tired of seeing them looking frail against every opponent. Also, this could be a perfect opportunity for Bruno if he wasn’t such a bum :hhh:.

Trae is still learning. Watching him in person, you can tell he’s still trying to figure out when to pass vs shoot against Philly. At this point, he just need to role back the clock to his Oklahoma days and get to launching.

Not having Dre/Cam hurts so much because they would at least be able to matchup with Ben/Tobias.

Last thing, I saw Cam shooting around before the game Friday…he looks taller and physically stronger.

Yea Trae is overthinking it a bit…he needs to be a bit more aggressive offensively. We’re not winning this series with him settling or not forcing the issue. Maybe I’m crazy but I still feel good about our chances in the series. We win Mon and it’s tied headed back to Philly, I’ll take my chances with that

If we don’t see Cam in this series, I’m looking forward to seeing how he plays as “the man” for a couple weeks in SL. Him, OO, our draft picks and filler will be interesting to see how they play where they’re basically running the show
