So Nate and Trae are gonna have to scheme on how to get Trae open and how make better decisions with the ball. Trae threw too many Ill advised lobs at the rim that were basically like turnovers. Sixers are trying to confuse Trae with length and physicality, we’re going to have to scheme Trae open to get the PnR open, open the floaters up and attack the paint. Trae’s gotta be more decisive but also more selective about how he attacks Philly and our bigs gotta get physical inside.
Philly is guarding Trae with Simmons and shading him with two defenders at all times with Embiid doing a hard show. Philly basically saying, anyone but him and oh Bogi. They are dropping on Bogi and wanting him to take the floater or pass it back out but they refuse to give the 3 to Bogi and Green has been great at the assignment.

Our SF has to win their battle. Kevin did but he was playing too many mins and got tired. Now that Kevin tries to play defense, he's really just a 28 mpg guy now. Philly gameplan deserves Roses. I can't lie, they got a nice scheme but its trash if we get Reddish or Hunter back. Someone that can relentlessly attack Curry like Kevin did tonight

Trae needs to improve his 3. Him getting to 40% would make him almost unguardable. But he can’t have 0 for games like this
He's not a very good shooter from deep. He's consistently been a low to mid 30% 3 point shooter at every level of his career

Ppl just get fooled when he hits 1 of those deep 3s and ignore all the misses before and after

Of course the ATL
I’ve been thinking about it brehs and even tho we lost I still feel really good about the rest of the series. A couple things I’ve seen/thinking about

-Should Gallo start/stagger minutes with he and Clint for Embiid. Clearly our strategy on Joel has not worked and Clint is getting frustrated and not impacting the game. Maybe you run a lineup of

Trae
Bogi
JC
Gallo
Clint

Plot twist is Gallo guards Embiid, Clint on Simmons, JC slides to Harris. Gives us length/girth on defense for Joel :dame: and Gallo has already shown he can bother him, let’s Clint stay home near the rim since we know Simmons won’t shoot and JC needs to just man up and play Tobias. Also prevents Clint from getting in foul trouble.

On offense it gets us another facilitator in the starting line up so now you’d have 3 guys who can create (Trae/Bogi/Gallo) as opposed to just Trae/Bogi

Solo is my dude but he shouldn’t be starting, even with no Hunter. We got away with in Game 1, we can’t give away another game with having him start and we need Gallo’s offense/playmaking alongside Trae. What y’all think? :lupe: (I’m assuming we don’t see DeAndre/Cam this series)

Hunter had a procedure on his meniscus and is done for the season.

I just heard from Coach Nate on 92.9 that Cam had done very little live practice work. I’m not sure we see him this series either

Damn, I knew Hunter was done but killa Cam, come save our season

Im hearing conflicting reports on his availability…Schlenk saying he’s extremely close but Nate saying he ain’t getting a lot of live work (which makes sense, the teams are usually doing walk throughs and film study on off days/not 5 on 5 practices). I don’t see Cam as an option

Exactly, Cam hasn't done live yet with the team, just the coaches. That's good but it's not great. That said, that was on Sat. Maybe he gets to practice tomorrow with the team in live

Welp…it was fun while it lasted.

Not going to totally count the team out but it looks like an uphill battle right now. The good thing is that the team was somewhat use to playing without Dre so it shouldn’t be a crazy shock to the rotation.

Super happy Dre is finally getting his knee taken care of so he can go into next year fresh.

Not expecting Cam to return either.

At this point…let’s just rock State Farm Arena these next two games and give the guys energy. Maybe they’ll be able to go crazy from 3 at home.
