I never listen to 570, I usually listen to 710
Look, I don't know anything about what that contest was or why you won it, but it was 6 years ago so who really cares.
The biggest problem with what you're doing is you're not even trying to let anyone like you. All you care about is blasting yourself in an "any attention is good attention, fukk the haters" sort of way. That does no good when you haven't found a way to monetize your site yet. People will give you one click (if they even do that) and never go back again and you'll have nothing to show for it. You're displaying unwarranted arrogance about where you are and what you've done. Why should anyone want to help you if you keep claiming you have already made it?
You're trying to enter a field that doesn't require licenses so literally anyone can do it. The people that have been successful in it and have put in a lot more time and work than you have are not always going to be receptive to people who wake up one day and decide to be their peer. It's like me going out and buying a George Foreman grill and the next day, tweeting pictures of my meatloaf dinner to Anthony Bourdain and Wolfgang Puck. It's insulting and you can expect to get put on blast for it. Social media gives you an ability to reach out to these people and if you're sincere about it, it can go a long way. Take interest in the work they do, ask questions, ask for advice, etc but don't expect anything. And don't do it just because you want to get something back from them. Do it because you have genuine interest in what they do and/or what they're saying.
You have dismissed just about everything that Bomani is about. He probably went to prestigious colleges and put a ton of work into what he does and now he's getting a paycheck from "the man". You say you're successful without all that yet you're blowing up his twitter feed just to get him to acknowledge you
