Before ya'll nikkas lose ya mind, hear me out. Assuming the Cavs don't pull off any blockbuster trades this off-season, I think LeBron will be traded.

LeBron James knows his basketball clock is running out. He will not let himself play the 2017-18 season with the same crew the Warriors ran off the court. I believe that after its obvious the Cavs can't trade Kevin Love for another star, LeBron will let Daniel Gilbert know that he won't resign in 2018. Rather than losing him for nothing once again, Gilbert will attempt to trade LeBron. I think LeBron will lift his no-trade clause for the right team because he doesn't want to lose a year in his prime on a team he knows has zero chance to win a ring. LeBron will be 33 this upcoming season. He knows his basketball clock is running out. He knows he can't waste anymore seasons on a team he knows will be nothing more than a sacrificial lamb in the finals for the Warriors.

Since I don't think the Cavs will land someone like Paul George, I think LeBron will privately demand a trade and Dan Gilbert will oblige.

Not if its a trade. KD left in free agency. That was his choice and his choice alone. In this case, LeBron would be getting traded because he wouldn't commit to coming back in 2018. And Gilbert would be the one trading him because he doesn't want to lose him for nothing in 2018.

The LeBron camp could spin this as a Dan Gilbert move because LeBron wouldn't give up his right to test free agency in 2018.

yea true. but i think being traded would stain his legacy.

i think he'd rather wait to see if he can get cp3 and melo in cleveland first... or a few other players. A lot can happen in 1 year. but i guarantee Warriors gonna repeat in 2018 no matter what happens

He wouldnt agree to a trade because it would take too much to get him. Any team getting him would immediately be worse than the cavs are as currently constituted
Exactly. He doesn't want to waste a year in Cleveland so instead he'll want to go waste a year on a worse team?

Makes no sense

It would be a smart move by Bron, that's what no trade clauses are for. The player gets to wield the power. Im not as sure he will be traded as you but these are solid points. The league is changing now. GSW is the benchmark and all GMs are on notice. I wish the Bulls front office was as serious about winning as these top players are :mjcry:

not really....he has a point....

lebron doesnt have time to waste another season....and unless the cavs make a huge move to add a big name or 2....he not commiting.....and if he doesnt commit....why would the cavs go all out when he's just gonna leave next summer....

actually its a great move business-wise to trade him
They would need someone to trade with and won't expect anything back.

I think he'll get too much backlash if he leaves this year. Its kinda like what Durant did.

Give him a year and he might join the Wizards or Knicks or Something. He definitely would be crazy to go out west.

Why do people keep saying this? :heh: It might make for a tougher series or 2 but if he were to join the 8th seed Blazers, I give him a better chance at winning a ring there than in Cleveland next year. People act like joining a team out west is doomsday. He averages the same numbers against the west as he does in the east for his career. He would be joining a team that he would put over the top most likely.

And according to crazy coli logic, losing in the playoffs would be better than taking another finals L. :troll: on the coli 3 for 8 is better than 3 for 9 :russ:

Probably won't happen but I get where OP is coming from. Bron clearly want to leave and the owner doesn't want to get fleeced like last time. If Bron want to go he should just tell Dan Gilbert to trade him and leave on good terms. Doesn't Bron want to own the Cavs one day? If he gets traded Cavs will get a healthy return package, and whenever Bron retires and wants to buy into the Cavs they won't suck.

It would be swell as hell if he chose to come lead the Suns into prominence.

Don't see him leaving the Eastern Conference, tho.

He got it easy over there

Lebron james is not a business man, he's a BUSINESS man.

Nobody in the cavs front office is going to be the culprit who shipped over a billion dollars in revenue out of the city of cleveland. No amount of assets will persuade them to do that.

Unlike cp3 or jimmy, when they leave the economy surrounding those arenas don't collapse. When lebron leaves everyone from the guy selling t shirts and glow in the dark sticks to every bar and restaurant within a 10 mile radius of quicken loan arenas business suffers. Nobody is going to pull the trigger on that one.

It won't happen, unless it's in a similar scenario to when he left before where he is picking a destination and cleveland s&t just to get some kinda compensation. But lebron would have had to make it clear he is gone.
