Bojangles got the Carolinas on lock, but when a Popeyes first went up on New Bern Ave here in Raleigh, there was lines for days, so bad that they had to bring the cops out there to direct traffic since the lines was circling around back out onto the street.
Low key, there was one on Broadway in Brooklyn. It didn't last long. It was in some hood little mini-mall spot by Halsey St. An Arab nikka was running it. I went by to check it out since I already knew about Bojangles. Asked the Arab for a side of dirty rice and he got salty thinking I was insulting the cleanliness of his establishment. I was like "nikka, it's ON THE MENU"
Chicken was dry (the exact opposite of how a Bojangles chicken should be) and the biscuits was wack... Threw the food in the and marched over to Popeye's and got right.
Found a picture of it: I've been back through the area and didn't see it, so I think it was closed.
Im near New Bern ave now. Might have to make a Popeyes pitstop
