That poses a great question that I want to throw out to everyone else. Where do you guys stand on sin stocks (FB for example) or CEO's whose ideologies you don't agree with? Do you avoid investing in them or are you indifferent as long as you're making money?

I have been an investor in FB since 2012. But I would be lying if I said my moral compass hasn't been tested over the past few years as I have expressed on here.

I'm surprised by how many people learned about PLTR for the first time this year. Up a decent amount off it as well, still holding.

But I'm not fond of Thiel's belief system.

There are lots of quiet bad actors in orgs, so does that make it better to be invested in those companies simply because the founder/CEO/leadership isn't flamboyant with their terrible views? That said, my line is drawn where I know of companies being actual bad actors in society - like Nestle attempting to privatize water and working against access to it being a human right.

I honestly feel that way about Musk. I have strong positive vibes about the company. But not for Musk himself

What makes Facebook a sin stock? Is it the data gathering on everyone that they do? What about companies that may use child labor or in places like China that have bad human rights records? I guess it depends on what the company does that's wrong. And if but public finds out about it. Even a supposedly good company can be doing something wrong to try and get ahead in their industry. For me it depends on what the company is doing wrong and how it may affect me and those I know. If it's something major like damaging the environment or slave labor then I'll likely avoid them if I hear about it.

That's a great point. I don't invest in those. Especially tobacco. I feel like cigarettes are the worst of all and have seen the negative effects on some family members thru out my life. Shoot even gun stocks are companies involved in hurting/killing people. And it's not just companies that hurt the people that use their products. Things like racial discrimination is also a big factor, especially for the black investors in here. It can get tough at times deciding what's worth it or what's not morals wise.

Y'all think TMO (Thermo Fisher Scientific) will hit 500? Crazy for me to see their ticker this high. I worked with them in 2014, and you could tell the company was a big deal, I didn't think this big. shyt should've bought shares then.

pay me...Id invest with satan himself if I could profit. I have always seemingly been invested in Altria. I forgot what it used to be called but I was on a deployment when I started investing and I wanted to get into a tabacco stock because Soldiers were smoking like chimneys...Same way I have also looked for an alcohol or marijuana etc. I just want to profit.
