No and yes.

No, because they're composed of securities just like everything else.
Yes because they're such long-term investments that this particular dip / crash won't hurt you in the long run unless you're retiring in the next 5 years.

Look at minimum deposits, per trade transaction fee, options fees. See if they have admin fees (most mainstream like TD, Etrade, etc don't have admin fees). After that, just find the platform that works for you. Each company presents charts and data in a slightly different way and each has proprietary software that you may favor over another service. Realistically they are all pretty much the same for a basic investor so it comes down to the cheapest transaction fees.
