How much longer are "China stocks" going to be taking a beating?

Anyone else invested in BILI or looking to get into it?

i was interested in BILI but decided chinese stocks aren't worth investing in, at least not until they get their shyt together. BABA, JD, TENCENT and BILI seem like the top chinese stocks to own and i might buy once the dust settles or it gets to a stupid cheap price.

Probably some algo BS. i just copped more SoFi shares and also bought some contracts $15c for Dec. '23

if those leaps don't print 'd be surprised.

Damn, good shyt. I was asleep at the wheel.

My portfolio was up all morning so i didn't even look to make any buys then all of a sudden I started getting price alerts as the markets were closing.

That guy Jeremy, who has had a lot of videos posted on here for his stock analysis, is always hyping them up every chance he gets. What's the deal there? Is it actually a good company, or is he an unofficial shill for them? I'm assuming it's the first thing, but also maybe a little bit of the second thing.

After hearing him name drop them so many times, I actually did look at their website. It doesn't appear to be a company like Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods. They seem to be more along the lines of a blue apron and other companies that'll mail you a fully prepared meal. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
They sell packaged dinners that are plant based. Used to only do private label store brand foods. They've gotten into some big stores lately and have been selling well. There was some funny business with the CEO and CFO though which lead to the CFO resigning and it's had a tough time since then. I think the CEO gave a bunch of shares away to a consultant lawyer for services rendered and they wrote it off. Could be wrong.

They’re frozen foods. I don’t think their meat substitutes are anywhere near as innovative as impossible or beyond - they use substitutes that have been around for years

I had BILI in 2018 when it was in the $16 range. This was around the time that JD and IQ (remember them) were also popping. I only had about 20 to 25 shares and that was my first year playing with stocks, but I had to sell it because I let my ex borrow some money that she needed.

Since then, BILI has surpassed the $100 range. Now it's back into the $60 range. I also feel that it is risky to be in Chinese stocks, but if I don't go in too much and only set stop limits, then it might not be too bad to consider getting back into BILI. I think they post earnings this week or next.

Side question: How do y'all think that TSM will be affected if China does turn up the pressure more than before and talks about reclaiming Taiwan?

not looking good for china stocks in the short term, Xi recently has been going hard on "common prosperity" which means wealth redistribution to the poor https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/18/chi...on-prosperity-at-finance-economy-meeting.html.

Tencent recently pledged to give back billions of $$ to the community, and i bet all of these other chinese companies are likely gonna see the govt take a bigger chunk of their profits. in the long term, this might actually be good as if the wealth redistribution is successful, the customer base of these companies will grow. but that may not matter as much if the anti-monopoly laws actually encourage more competition to tencent, baba, etc.

overall, i'm holding my shares of JD and BABA, but i may sell some/all my position at the end of the year to offset other capital gains
