Was up 7k, now 700. Somehow they think selling now would save them from taxes when the shyt, if it even passes, would already apply for 2021. So no fukking point in even selling.

Any economic majors in here or anyone who has a great understanding of it, I have a question.

What does Biden taxing the rich that much actually do?

Some people are hurt saying it will hurt the middle class and poor people.

But wouldn't the redistribution of wealth be greater for the economy, the people, and the low income communities? Instead of the rich hoarding all their money in the market for themselves to stay rich?

i have no econ background and am just bs'ing lol. But logically, if this is passed, it's gonna result in rich people selling off their stocks to lock in the current lower cap gains rate. Since this only affects those who earn over one million, the selloff might not be that bad tho. long-term, i agree with you that this will have a positive benefit on the economy.

what's best for society and capitalism rarely align. sure the wealthy, and corporations, paying more taxes is a net positive for us at large, but it's bad for business

question i have is what the hell were the algos on for that hard dump on this news just for it to reverse?
