There's not much they can do. Stop shorting stocks. Retail investors are showing they can pick shorted stocks and keep them pumped up enough to cause short squeezes.

They are going to say retail. is engaging in extremely risky behavior and it is a danger to the market. They did it with pattern day trading. They could do the same with options. Only available if you have 25k or more funds
