Households are plundering 401(k)s to survive the COVID-19 crisis

Wouldn't know the economy was that bad looking at the coli and surrounding websites :skip:
Lot of people trying to live the same lifestyle they were living or higher instead of sacrificing some and cutting back a bit. Those numbers are high especially for the six figure salary ones. Lots of people living check to check. Crazy that its the upper middle class doing the most withdrawals. Money flows up not down tho so who knows what the breaking point may end up reaching.

Subversive Capital Acquisition

Another cannabis SPAC deal that was announced recently was Subversive Capital Acquisition Corp. (OTCQX: SBVCF) bringing several brands public into a new company referred to as “The Parent Company.”

The deal includes Caliva, OG Enterprises branding and Left Coast Ventures. One of the shareholders of the new company will be Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z.

Carter will serve as Chief Visionary Officer of the parent company and also oversee a corporate venture fund focused on social equity measures. Carter will be paid $40 million in stock over a three year period.

The Parent Company will serve as the official cannabis partner of Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s company that has a roster of musical artists and athletes.

The company expects revenue to hit $185 million in 2020 and $334 million in 2021. Products launched under the Monogram brand hit the market on December 10.

VUZI up twelve percent today!

I'm just a light day trader who likes to invest in products that I believe in or services that I like, but should I buy more anytime soon or no? I have fifteen shares, but I want to buy smart and not just buy because I like the company.

I don't know what this URG stock that they shilling over on Reddit is but they say Biden expected to announce some nuclear energy thing and it may grow some more. Done threw some of my ZOM winnings in it to see what happens. Hopefully it gains some momentum thru the rest of the week and into next week cuz I still gotta clear my ZOM sell from this morning and not risk good faith. And hopefully ZOM can get past $1 and build some support there.

Looking for a good semiconductor play since getting out of AMD last week. Don't really see it exploding in the next year or so.

Anybody familiar with THBR? It's a SPAC merging with Indie Semiconductors sometime in the first quarter, so fairly soon. They make semi-conductors for the automotive industry, which is having a huge shortage right now. Seems to be flying under the radar compared to similar SPACS.Now might be the time to get in before the merger catalyst, tho I might hold long-term pending more DD

Achronix is a semiconductor company. Last week they announced their SPAC merger agreement. Here is another opportunity to get in early.

Achronix to List on Nasdaq Through Merger with ACE Convergence

Yeah a lot of folks living beyond they means in a tough economical time. Instead of saying fukk this the cars and clothes and etc going back to the bank or store. Little jimmy and suzie gonna have to get jobs, work they way through college and help pay on this tuition.

Yet we got middle, upper middle and upper class folks kicking it even harder in this poor economy.

True that. It's why investing is so crucial. The economy has bounced back from the March low but who knows how long it may take someone to get back a 25k withdrawal. And I believe that kids should pay their own tuition. My boy has some Florida prepaid thing for his sons that lock in the tuition price, guess he pays monthly. But it be best to invest that money and let it grow. His oldest is 8 I believe so definitely plenty of time before he can go to college. Plus the kids have more time to pay off any loans after graduating or finishing with schools versus parents who are in their forties and fifties and need to catch up for retirement. That compound interest don't work if you keep withdrawing from these retirement plans.

i don't think there are any better semiconductor plays than TSM and ASML. stocks and leaps on both of these companies make up almost 7% of my portfolio and i just bought more TSM today on the dip. ASML in particular is interesting because it literally has a total monopoly on equipment that is crucial to make the latest most advanced chips. that could change over the next 1-2 years, especially with the chinese SMIC stealing talent from TSM, but regardless i see both of these companies going up steadily. great long-term holds
