I'm going to be honest, it seems like youtube content "creators" in general
essentially cannibalize each other for views.

In all kinds of "genres" for lack of a better word, Finance, Fitness, Videogames, Technology etc.
It can quickly become an echo chamber.
The YouTube algorithm is a kingmaker. If your videos don't target it you'll end up a dead channel because people who use YouTube have to be fed your videos on their feed or else they'll forget about you. I'm probably subbed to over 1000 channels. I can't remember them all so I just watch stuff in my feed. Half the time I don't even use the sub tab.

I mean you almost have to. In order to get someone to view you have to pop up. So clickbait titles, or topics that are popular is what needs to be mentioned. And that needs to continue just so your subscribers will actually know when you post or so that you can pick up on new subs or just clock watch hours.
