Yep breh a lot of kats make their money by leaaving a job and then rolling that 401k they had over to a traditional or a roth IRA.

That way with the IRA you can buy stocks and really make money. I will never forget a old timer hipping me to game once I got into corporate america. Old kat was like make sure you max out your 401k. Then once you leave roll that money over to an IRA and so you can start buying stocks and etfs. Old school was like trust you will thank me in the end.

Yeap that old kat sure was right....:wow:

I have been maxing out my current job 401K but my previous job 401K, I have had just sitting there, I just checked on and got a return of 2% year to date :scust: . I honestly never looked at it since I left my job two years ago.

Going to see what I can do with it to get more out of it.

What are the benefits of the m1 pie been mentioned here? What do you get out of it?
i use it as a savings account. pick some stocks you may want exposure to but don't want to buy outright (or maybe you have bought outright, and want more exposure without having to worry about buying whole shares every time) drop money in it each month and keep it moving. it's not dynamic enough to use as a trading account, but it's a cool way to make sort of a set and forget portfolio, or your own "etfs"

^ this right here. Its like crypto in 2017. Any and everything was making money.

Folks have to realize that the bull market won't last foever. Like @FabTrey said keep some cash available so when the market crashes cause it always does. Then you can buy shyt on the cheap.

Second if you got a short term account. Take some profits to cover yourself. For IRAs you don't have to worry as much unless you will be retiring soon. Then you need to move your money in safe investments.

that's why I'm going ham :whew:

When my last 401k rollover comes in monday or Tuesday, that's another 160k to play with. IT'S NOT A fukkIN GAME!!!

Even though its just a 2% return you can get a win out of that. Lets say you roll it to an roth IRA. Well because your returns are so low and the account hasn't grown your tax hit is low as well. I had one 401k that had a lot of mutual fund and company stock that I planned to roll over in bits and pieces to a roth IRA to not take a big tax hit in one year.

Man when Covid hit I was like hell yeah. I called up fidelity and rolled over the entire 401k to a roth ira. And made sure that when they rolled the money over it was left in the mutal funds and company stock. So now cause the stock market is back the 401k that I rolled over is worth over double now. But because the economy crashed then I moved it to a roth I am only taxed on half that amount. So once I retire its tax free money.

i can see a correction, but correction is just a nice clearance sale day. it will get back up right back. Feds just won't let the market down. and stimulus is coming. so i see another bull run in 2021, but not like what we had.

i don't think i'll ever do another 200% return like this year. it's not likely. i'll be happy with 30% annual return from now on.

Yep won't be a major bull run like this because we aren't gonna hit the floor. Its easy to have major bull runs when the economy hits the floor and bounces back.

The good thing is that there is a mini crash every about 2 to 3 years and a major crash every 7 to 10 years. Not to forget major military conflicts and natural disasters and in america government shut downs. There is always a way to make money.

Heck I know a old dude who made a killing from 2001 to 2005 all in DoD and oil stocks. Kat became a millionaire off of 9/11, war in Iraq and afganistan and hurricane Katrina.

So there are opportunities everywhere.
