exactly. Thats also why I'm not sweating it I did take profit on nio and sbe. But I didn't do anything with PLTR and the others. Hopefully they get to rolling again.

Usually with a SPAC or hot new IPO etc. I'm looking to take some profits at 40-50% or certainly 80-100% and then I'm letting the rest ride but it also depends on when I get in and if I had an opportunity to load up on shares or not in the meantime.

I don't have a set formula because I am going to treat each stock a little differently depending on how much I like the long term prospects but these are just some general rules of mine...

@Serious

for LMND -

I'm just holding strong. I'll only buy if it dips below $50. but you can start the position now and build it up. :manny:
Position is started, problem is I need more shares. Idk where a bottom is....

I posted a couple days ago, that LMND finally has a lot of big money behind them. So idk how low its going dip to much. I'm starting see their ads on youtube a few times a day. I haven't seen it like this since I first heard about them 2-3 years ago. I loved the concept then but now that I got some more insight, I really want to throw a couple stacks their way.

The homie @manyfaces who is an industry insider who gave us the greenlight:
They've pretty much streamlined the underwriting process by utilizing algorithms moreso than actuaries. Now the big insurance companies have streamlined their process to over the years, but there's still more of a human element to it than a company like lemonade. You can have your regrets it home policy set up in damn near 5 minutes, and with a better rate than most of the big companies. So I'm pretty bullish on it, especially as more young people hit the workforce and move away from home. They're gonna want a smooth easy process like everything else they're use to.

Now Root for car insurance I'm not as big on. Car insurance is a little different than home insurance. There's more of a brand loyalty and name recognition than home/renters insurance, and harder to get a real foothold in the industry. Companies are set to transition kids to their own policies when it's time for them to move on, so there's stronger retention. I keep my eye on it, but I'm not touching it anytime soon, just cause I don't trust the long term success of the product. None of that is even really stock related, just what I know of insurance after working in it for a while.

Speaking of ROOT, that loyalty shyt is real, but man......

But I'm banking on Innovation and cheaper price being enough to influence underinsured individuals to use insurance if they think can signficantly save money. I remember not having a steady check. Paying 150+ for insurance wasn't the wave. My insurance has gone as high as $250, and i've had quotes of $450.

Right now their price dropped, off an earnings call loss....

I might throw a few hundred their way as a spec play.

it only takes 1 bad PR for this go below $50. :manny:

i know FE is waiting for low $40s drop. he really wants to get in, but he's staying patient. :pachaha:

it's a long hold no matter what and most likely it will trade sideways for awhile. upside $80, bottom $40 i feel. but if it does break $80 and gets to 52 week high then flood gate might open.

Tesla Should Launch a Human Driven Ride-Hail Service to Accelerate Its Autonomous Strategy

Don’t know about this. Own insurance and extra data would help, but rest? If they can get profitable then sure.

They gonna end up losing profit I think, if they using their cars for a ride hail service. Especially for the robotaxi thing which I'm not sure how successful that may be. They gonna have to set a price competitive enough with uber and lyft plus deduct the cost of manufacturing the vehicle. Also the cost of liability might be higher especially with FSD unless the technology is top notch by time of release. But of course technology can't account for human stupidity. And thats for other drivers, not the Tesla. Also not sure how many current Tesla owners would be interested in doing ride hail anyways.

Hopefully one day, and not just EV but all vehicles in general, become smarter and are able to talk to one another and the world around them such as traffic, traffic lights, and the weather. Find ways to make the roads safer. Cuz ain't no point in getting into a self driving taxi when there are idiots around you unable to properly drive.

This bubble is nice. beside TSLA pretty much everything in this space is volatile as fuk. it ran up too much. a nice correction was needed.

if NIO drops more then i'm buying more. gotta keep building my position.

Do you think these will run up like TSLA in the long run?

this guy on YouTube jmacinvesting used to breakdown all the SPACs but he seems to be doing other shyt now. The SPACs I'm either in or looking to get in would be ackman's yet-to-be-named merger, SBE, LCA, IPOB, IPOC, LGVW but honestly there are tons of them out there some better than others..
