thats fine when buying, but i'm currently holding waaaay too many stocks. but all of them are doing well and/or are long term plays. i got like 37 positions open

I have 20 positions I plan to keep #21 is BND which is a few grand in a holding pattern. I looked into these companies when I bought them but keeping track of 20 companies is tough. I can't imagine following almost 40. I thin ideally I wanna get down to 15 positions or so.

I got 5 main stocks. Also two specs for entertainment (potential boom plays), may add a 3rd.

I try and limit my stocks, but should flip one of the tech ones to beyond meat or something. Too much tech.

My mistake was spreading my portfolio too thin in the first place. I kinda been focusing on getting some of these positions up to 50 shares each minimum. Right now I'm doing Intel and Store Capital when are about 10 shares away. Then I'll move onto whatever else is below the cost basis I have. I don't know if I'm keeping Carrier but it's been preforming pretty well for me so I haven't sold it. Wanna get out of Exxon Mobile but I'm 40% down so I'm letting the dividends help ease the loss since they refuse to cut them. I messed up not getting Abbvie to 50 shares on that last dip but ideally I don't want anything to be more than 5-6% of my portfolio when it's full grown.

It's not even close either lol. People who say the market is like gambling must mean options because buying actual shares of good companies is a win more often than not.

Stock market way better than sports betting. I enjoy both but much rather play stocks. For 2 or 3 years I use to bet heavy couldn't win the long run. Always have stretched I'm up big than down even more lol. All my money in stocks now. Stop play options also. Bad at time stocks.
