FE has been saying Vegas is pretty normal on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The articles I posted just said casinos/hotels are at 60% capacity on weekends, when 80%+ was the norm pre pandemic. And a huge portion of visitors to the strips are those there for conferences, which aren’t happening. Again, I’m going to take figures from tourism boards to heart over visual anecdotes from individuals or people just looking at clubs.

And I’d assume more Vegas residents are clubbing on the strip now (which wasn’t the norm pre covid) as there are likely lower prices to get in, for bottle service, etc

I'm in NYC. I overheard a young woman at the bus stop earlier this week say that Uber is not really poppin' like that anymore because they are charging too much for rides (real voices from real people on the streets). I personally don't use any ride-sharing apps unless I'm in a different state, so I wouldn't know how pricing is nowadays. I also read somewhere that recently UberEats made Uber more money than their ride-sharing app for the first time (probably due to the pandemic).

Uber (and similar companies) got something coming up with Proposition 22, and depending on how people vote on that, it can help or hurt their business. I don't know too much about it, and also, the market sometimes goes up when you expect it to go down, so who knows what to expect.

I have a feeling that UBER and GRUB should have a good winter, People are already more accustomed to ordering delivery more than ever before, plus cold weather is approaching, plus, while I did look into propane companies recently and how they'll provide heating for outdoor dining this winter, the majority of people will want to eat at home. I know that some of these companies are not profitable at all yet, but at least in the short term, I'd expect a rise in UBER's price.

I looked at no fundamentals and didn't do any due diligence. I'm just trying to use common sense and go with my gut feeling. Like most of us in this thread. I am not an expert. I'm just an entertainer.

Here's a recent article about these delivery apps: Which company is winning the restaurant food delivery war? - Second Measure

Uber was losing money before Covid. You now have people WFH, not going to bars/clubs, not travelling for fun, not travelling for work, etc. I guess that helps the Eat business, but that stock is too high for me right now.

It's not just about the election anymore though. With no stimulus yet (remember for a minute it was being priced in) and covid on the rise it's a big issue.. France, Germany, UK all locking down..

I don't think every sector will tank but if covid continues to dominate some sectors will be hit and others will be hit very hard...

i'm buying wheven my price targets for certain stocks hit...not trying to time it against an election, covid, etc. just focusing on what i feel are fair prices for entry or adding to positions.

that said, i'm definitely keeping cash on hand for what i think will be a drop in jan/feb when we see disappointing holiday results in consumer sectors, annual reports come out showing the full effects of the shyt show that is 2020, the reality of either another term of trump or regime change sets in, plus COVID 2021.

We are still in the pandemic as we speak. The hotels and clubs are about as full and booked as they are allowed to be right now. Of course it isnt “the norm” im not even sure your angle right now. Its not fully open like Atlanta or Houston. Which allow general admission at venues. Vegas is still table only reservations.

make no mistake they say full capacity allowed and posted a flyer saying Future at Drais nightclub, theyd sell 5,000 tickets in 5 minutes.

I get paid on Friday I think I’ll hold out til at least Wednesday. If there’s uncertainty regarding the election then I’ll wait to Friday to see if it drops. If Biden is the clear cut winner then I’ll probably start buying on Wednesday.
