Real talk unless yall have some calls close to expiring or were about to take profits, some of yall are too invested into price dips....

45 is a piece of shyt, but this could be the buying opportunity we've been waiting for.
A lot of people don’t have the same safety net and are casual investors. Of course that stuff bothers them.

I mentioned it in the other thread, but I don't see it coming until Biden is in office now. Republicans and the President don't care about it that much or they would've done it sooner. After they lose in a landslide and become lame ducks, I don't see what their incentive is to negotiate moving forward given how indifferent they have been so far about relief.

My guess is that this winter is going to be pretty bad for a lot of Americans

If Biden wins no stimulus until January

What do you mean by your last sentence?

The core thinking behind finance is a dollar today is more valuable than a dollar a year from now. The art of finding the present value of a dollar a year from now is discounting the dollar back to present value.

With that said the concept is applied to businesses through doing a discounted cash flow, where you find the future cash flows a business generates and discount them back to present value terms. By doing this you find the intrinsic value of a company.

Stocks can be segmented into a variety of categories, one main segmentation is the idea of "value" vs. "growth". Growth stocks are stocks that are usually early in their product life cycle(Tesla), or perhaps been around for a while but still innovate to create new avenues of revenue(Google - which can be value or growth depending on the way you look at it). Growth stocks tend to sell a dream of exponential growth(hence the name) rather than a historic and tangible stream of cash flows. High risk vs. high reward. If the dream falters, the company is worthless.

Value stocks are usually verifiable, they already have a historical stream of revenues, and are profitable. Value investors are usually old school, buffet, graham, etc., The idea, going back to discounted cash flow, is that you buy the company when the stock price is lower than the intrinsic value(buy the company at a "discount").

In terms of market returns, growth stocks have been >>>> value for the better part of the 2000's. I'm saying with a full democratic control political system posing a threat to FAANG, value stock should look rather appealing. But IMO everyone should have exposure in the value category anyway :hubie:

If Biden wins no stimulus until January
If Biden wins he gets inaugurated January 20. Even if COVID relief is one of the first thing he gets passed and signs. When do you think people will start seeing checks? shyt can easily be March. And if GOP keeps the senate it can be longer if theirs bickering

I lowkey thought Trump had been readmitted to the hospital or worse when that selloff started. Didn't have a clue what was going on, but just started liquidating positions ASAP.

To me, that's a sign that fear is definitely in these markets and volatility could be around the corner. I will probably be reducing my position sizing or minimizing the # of new positions I open for now.

This is gonna be a spooky month
With Halloween at the end of the month, it usually is.

Trump was like fukk y'all stimulus, I gotta use that money to pay for my covid treatments. :troll:

Whats with these Democrats tryna break up big tech? :mindblown: Although, maybe they should find the department in each of those companies that is losing money and break that part of the company up. Let them be happy with breaking up the tech company by removing its weakest link. :smugbiden:

Quick question for ya cuz ya some geniuses up in here. 250 a month on a 401k is Gucci? How much is that in about 20 years?

I heard some of ya talking about a m1 account. Should I be looking into that on top of the 401k?

for this job The company contributes 58.34% for each $1 the employee contributes up to 6% of regular base.
